Changes

Posted on May 26, 2010

I am in the process of changing this site yet again. Since starting full time with Wall Street of Demain, I found that it was really important for me to adjust the focus of Grip Creative. So, I did exactly that. I designed a new site and launched it earlier this week.

As for JoshTilton.com, I will be buffing up my photography here shortly. Since I’m shooting more and more, I would really like to keep my design and photography separate. Having two domains should do this well. Thanks!

Here in Denver and Loving It

Posted on Dec 16, 2009

My family and I are now 100% settled in Denver. House is unpacked and the Christmas decorations are up. It was a long drive out here, but it was well worth it.

JD McCulley and I have settled into our new office digs, dubbed the Bat Cave. It’s where we work, talk and push forward all things design and development for GreenTent.com. This is an exciting time in my life and hope to keep this site updated with all the new projects that we are working on.

Best!

This Is Going To Be One Crazy Month

Posted on Nov 02, 2009

Yep.

This is the month we move from the East Coast to Denver, Colorado. Am I excited about the new opportunities? Yes, very. Amy I excited about the packing, driving with an 8 Months Old 1600+ miles, then unpacking again? Nope.

It will be well worth it though.

What Happened to Grip Creative?

Posted on Sep 16, 2009

I think that it is probably appropriate to formally explain what has been happening in my life specifically concerning my web design business, Grip Creative llc. I hope this entry may shed a little light on the situation for those who may be wondering.

As the sole operator for Grip Creative, I maintained a lot of agility. I would be working on small sites one week, then large contracting with large corporations the next. I would also contract as a designer for other web agencies. Nearly a year ago I was contacted by a partner at GreenTent Design & Marketing to design a new website they were creating. As the project progressed we really started to see that we had a good thing going.

As it turned out, GreenTent offered me a partnership to come on board 100%. As a team, we are now doing things that I only dreamed about eventually doing with Grip Creative. Our services and products have grown, and we are getting incredible feedback from our clientele. This is shaping up to be a great decision for everyone.

That is why I have retired the gripcreative.com domain. I’m still doing my design ‘thang, but just with a bigger and brighter future ahead.

FIRERIFT - A New Foreward Thinking CMS

Posted on Aug 17, 2009

My buddy Drew Wilson has just launched his content management tool, FIRERIFT to the general public. This is one of the first JSON powered CMS on the market and has one of the slickest UI’s of any CMS out there. There are some hurdles one may have to deal with regarding SEO, but I have personally heard from Drew that he plans on implementing some kind of server side rendering in the next version.

The guys at Joyent have a SMART platform that renders Javascript sever side. They said by avoiding the DOM, you can create some amazingly powerful applications with JavaScript without the security concerns of client side rendering. That is a huge company and they are pushing that technology forward. Drew has truly developed one of the more forward thinking CMS available today.

I’ve watched drew over the last year push this thing forward and I am so excited that it is now ready. Congratulations Drew on all the hard work!

Another Great Reason To Make The Investment In A Professional Photographer

Posted on Jul 31, 2009

Seattle Bride magazine just published an article where an amatuer photographer and pro go head to head on the same wedding. Everyone has a budget for their wedding, and some people opt to have their friend or family member that owns an SLR take their pictures to save money. This article clearly shows that the wise investment is in the pro - regardless of the cost.
